If you're a telephone subscriber in Union City, you may be eligible for a refund from the City. Until recently, Union City required telephone companies to charge a 911 fee on all phone bills. The money collected was to be used to pay for the costs of providing emergency police and fire dispatch communications. The fee was successfully challenged in court and as a result the City has initiated a process to refund any City-imposed 911 fees to those residents who paid the fee over the past 12 months.

Register your team in time to participate in the Union City Leisure Services Adult Flag Football League!  Teams will compete in a 4 on 4 all passing flag football format on a 30 yard wide x 60 yard long field.  All games are held at Shorty Garcia field.  All teams make playoffs!  

The City of Union City encourages people to become involved in their local community. One way to do so is to serve in an advisory capacity on one of the City's various commissions. The City is currently accepting applications to fill alternate positions on the Human Relations Commission, Park and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission and the Senior Citizens Commission.

A groundbreaking ceremony in Union City celebrated the the construction of what’s being billed as a future “transportation hub for the region and landmark for the City.” Years in the planning, the vision for the Union City Intermodal Station is that of a key connection point for commuters and other travelers -- a point where they will be able to board and transfer between BART, passenger rail (Capitol Corridor, Dumbarton Rail, ACE) and bus (AC Transit and Union City Transit) services.

Everyone was a winner at the Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run sponsored by Union City Leisure Services, with the support of Kaiser Hospital.  Runners of all ages gathered at William Cann Memorial Park on a gorgeous Sunday morning.  Participants took off from the park, raced toward Cesar Chavez Middle School, made their way along the Alameda Creek Trail and then returned to the park and the finish line. Instead of trophies, first place finishers in each age group were presented with a large frozen turkey!  Happy Thanksgiving!
